Christopher "C.J." Watkins
C.J. Watkins is a fourth-generation musician, drummer, music director and producer. Known for his signature innovative music interpretations and drum arrangements, most of which continue to go viral on social media platforms. With the endorsement of many across the music scene and one of the best up and coming drummers in the country, C.J. is setting the stage to become a part of the next wave of great musicians and music directors for his generation. As a proud product of the gateway to the west, St. Louis, MO, C.J. was a music child prodigy from birth and started playing the drums as early as the age of two.
C.J. received his formal education at the prestigious Christian Brothers College High School, where his contributions were made in the Jazz Band, Drum Line, Diversity Club and Varsity Basketball Program. He was also a part of JAZZ U, which is an exclusive performing arts group of some of the best high school musicians in the country. C.J. went on to attend the historic Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and currently is in pursuit of his master’s degree. C.J. has accompanied and worked with a wide rage of some of best in music, such as Bebe Winans, Kurt Carr, jazz great Stephon Harris, famed trumpeter Melvin Jones, Donald Lawrence, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Geoffrey Golden, Antwaun Cooks and Gerald Haddon to name just a few.
C.J. currently shares his ministry gifts and talents at Word of Faith Family Worship Cathedral (Bishop Dale C. Bronner), Spirit and Truth (Pastor Mark Moore, Jr. ), and Victory City Church of Atlanta (Bishop Marc L. House) among others. In 2020, C.J. established CJDRUMPRO Productions, which is a full-service music production company, specializing in all areas of music production for recordings, social media, T.V. and films.
C.J. currently resides in Atlanta, GA, and is a proud member of Phi Mu Alpha Music Fraternity, Inc and is also endorsed by Dream Cymbals and Empire Ears.
